Specialist in Women’s & Girls’ Mental Wellbeing
Hi, I’m Jicinta Elliott, a clinical counsellor with over 15 years of experience and the founder of Counselling For Her.
I help women and girls navigate the messy, beautiful, and sometimes exhausting transitions of life. From the emotional ups and downs of the teen years, friendship struggles, and mental health challenges, to parenting pressures, relationship stress, identity shifts, and hormonal changes.
My professional Background & Experience
My counselling journey began in the drug and alcohol field with DrugArm, followed by work with at-risk families through government and community organisations, including the Department of Families.
I’ve supported parents through Parentline and young people through Kids Helpline, and later expanded into health coaching and corporate wellbeing through Queensland Health and Converge International.
I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life, from young girls navigating anxiety and friendships, to women in leadership roles managing stress, burnout, and workplace relationships.
I've worked with professionals in corrections, government, education, aviation, retail and more, always focused on strengthening mental health and emotional resilience.
My Approach
Now, through my private practice Counselling For Her, I focus on supporting women and teen girls in a space that is warm, practical, and truly person-centred. I built this practice to offer a high-quality, inner-city therapeutic experience without the pressure, travel, or waitlists right here in the community.
My approach is evidence-based and holistic, drawing on physiology, psychology, trauma theory, neurology, social work, behavioural science, and occupational therapy.
I’m friendly, practical, and outcome-focused, but also deeply compassionate. My goal is to walk beside you helping you feel more connected, calm, and confident in your life.
I also enjoy mentoring other counsellors and collaborating with health professionals who support women’s wellbeing.
If you're looking for counselling that’s professional, grounded, and truly tailored to women’s experiences I’d love to hear from you.
Warmly,
Jicinta.
